Frankie’s Grand Final week diary

The Grand Final parade was fun.

The Grand Final parade was fun.

THE good thing about being a dog when you’re approaching a big game is that you don’t treat it as something special. That’s because when you’re a dog every day is the BEST DAY EVER.

Micky Barlow told me I should keep a diary of the week. I think he wants to copy it and put his name on it.

Saturday 21 September
Before the game Ross said
• Be under no illusions
• Scoreboard is irrelevant
• It’s about effort
It was fun barking at those Swans. I heard one of them say: “Where do you go to get a kick around here?”

It was the BEST DAY EVER.

Sunday 22 September
Got up went to the beach. Has breakfast had a sleep.

It was the  BEST DAY EVER.

Monday 23 September

Day off for players. I went for a walk and had a sleep.

It was the BEST DAY EVER.

Tuesday 23 September

Before training Ross told me I was playing in the grand final. “I know.” I said with a little sideways move of my head.
There were lots of people at training. We  didn’t do much. Me and Ballas and Son Son chased some seagulls. We do it for speed training and zig zag training and because it’s fun.

It was the BEST DAY EVER.

Wednesday 25 September

We has a meeting and Ross said:
• Premierships aren’t given away lightly.
• The proof is in the pudding. (Yummy)
• Now we move to the next moment.
• Give great effort.
• The only thing that is going to get it done is action.

Afterwards we had lunch and then I has a sleep.

It was the BEST DAY EVER

Thursday 26 September

We had a real training run. Ross told me who I would be tagging but I’m not going to tell you.
“He hates barking,” Ross said.
“I better not do it then,” I said with a lick of my lips and Ross knew I  didn’t mean it.

Then we got on the bus. There were lots of people at the airport. The flight was good. I slept on Aaron’s foot in the exit row.

Friday 27 September

I loved the parade. I had car to myself.

I reckon it will be the BEST DAY EVER.

Saturday 28 September

No much of a day….
